Hi. I'm Alfie. 🐾

I'm a German Shepherd Dog, I am extremely handsome, and I have a lot to tell you.

I wasn't supposed to make it. I was the only survivor from a litter of 9 puppies — rescued at about 2 months old from a situation of neglect, handed to a family who had no idea what they were getting into, and given a life I absolutely did not take for granted.

That was over five years ago. These days I am living my absolute best life and I want everyone to know about it.

The Early Days

I was a tiny, scrappy little thing when my pops first brought me home. Enormous ears. Too-big paws. A personality approximately three times the size of my body.

I didn't know it then, but I had hit the jackpot.

From day one my humans made sure I had everything — food, warmth, vet visits, training, playtime, and more love than I probably deserved (though I would argue I deserved all of it). They also had to puppy-proof the entire house, but that's a different story and I maintain that the pillow had it coming.

My Life Now

These days, a typical Alfie day looks something like this:

I wake up. I stretch dramatically. I follow my pops or my mama (whoever is up first) to every room of the house while he or she get ready — bathroom, kitchen, office, back to the kitchen, I don't miss a single stop. This is not stalking. This is loyalty. There is a difference.

I go to work with my pops most days, which means I get to hang out with my friends — Guapo the French Bulldog and Roxy the Australian Shepherd. My absolute best friend Rocky is also a GSD, and when he comes in we play nonstop from the moment he arrives to the moment he leaves. Zero breaks. Pure chaos. The humans are exhausted. We are thriving.

On weekends we hit the park, the trails, or anywhere near water — because I am a water dog and if there is a lake, a river, or an aggressively large puddle nearby, I will find it. My mama & pops have accepted this.

My hobbies include: long walks on the beach, doggy paddling in any body of water, trail running, nature road trips, enrichment toy challenges, and intensely sniffing everything at the dog park. My absolute favorite snack is a hard boiled egg. NOM NOM NOM.

I am, by any objective measure, living the dream.
